Chapter 5: Daisy in the waters

After they all set up camp and started a fire, they gathered round and withdrew some food to eat, before heading off to bed. Daisy drew out a bag of marshmallows and reads the packet, only to find that they have expired for a week.
“No way we can be able to eat those” said Justin
“I can” said Tomo, and he held out his hand as Daisy gave him the bag a little disgusted
“Expiry dates don’t affect the taste much” Tomo added
So Justin, trying to change the subject as Tomo was eating the stale marshmallows decided to ask Daisy a question.
“Whilst we are all here” he started “I’d like to hear your story and how you got here”
“Yeah I guess I did get a little sidetracked”
Tomo stopped, with a mouth full of marshmallows, then finally gulped down in order to speak.
“So lets hear it, I am a City Vampire, he has EX-Raid, what class are you? You some kind of witch or something?”
“Well I guess I better start from the beginning” Daisy replied, and she took a deep breath so she could calm down a little bit. “First of all, I see myself more as a Sorceress than a witch, it all began about a year ago, I was a fresh new face in the archaeology team, on the run for artefacts that tie in with the existence of mythical creatures of all kinds”
“A Sorceress AND an archaeologist?” Justin asked
“Not to start off with no” Daisy answered “I was a trainee learning about the fascinating history that had been acted on said lands. When I first began we were on the search for an ancient egyptian beast known as the ‘Tomb Tiger’, I was on one of five jeeps in the operation to dig into the tombs of the Pyramids. The person I had been assigned with was an old friend and a lot older than me in terms of age and experience, ‘Eric Hassleberry’.”
“Sounds like a good guy” said Tomo, eating another marshmallow
“He is” Daisy smiled “He was my, ‘support staff’ if you will, a very nice man, always wanted to bring up conversation even at the most dullest of moments.”

And Daisy began her tale of her past, she was on the jeep there and Eric wanted to let out conversation.
“So Daisy” said Eric in an Australian accent “This will be your first dig ever, are you excited?”
“Kinda” Daisy replied “but I hope we try to find something interesting, I already told you what I wanna see”
“Oh yeah, Mythical Beasts eah? That’s got to be the best part of archaeology, yes sir!”
There was a pause of silence
“So” continued Eric, “any plans after work? Or is it the same old relaxing thing you teenagers seem to do these days”
“well, I do have a boyfriend who promised me he would take me out on a night out into the city”
“Awh, that’s nice” Eric smiled
“Well we met less than a week ago, he was really nice to me when we bumped into each other, he helped me carry my books and everything”
“Not everyday a man falls in love, or woman to fall in love” Eric said “You’re a very lucky girl to have a nice man around”
Or was she? Anyway they were finally at the dig site, searching for evidence that could lead to the very proof of the existence of the Tomb Tiger. Daisy was part of the operation, and before long she hid something hard, and used her brush to sweep the dirt from where she was digging, and she saw something worn and bronze, she called everyone else, and when they took it off from under the ground they saw it was a helmet, and underneath was what looked like a tiger’s skull, they had found the remains of the Tomb Tiger at last and asked Daisy if they could start digging in her area for more bones, she agreed.

They put the skull in a protective case whilst the other men went looking for more bones, they were very amazed to find it so soon.
“Well done Daisy” Eric cheered “you’re really turning into the talk of the day now ain’t cha?”
Yes, she was, and she got a raise for it as well, but even a happy day can have its bad moments. After work she was at Merzo Central station waiting for her boyfriend to show up, he did, but there was something about him that made Daisy nervous. He was a blonde spikey haired person with pale skin, wearing a grey shirt and trousers, next to him hovering over his shoulder was a Beldum. Daisy walked up to him and gave him a hug
“I’ve been waiting for you” she said
The guy she was dating didn’t seem so happy
“Daisy” he said, “There is something I need to talk to you about”
“What do you mean? Is there something wrong?”
He paused
“I think its time to tell you what I really am”
“your starting to scare me, what’s wrong?”
“…I’ve been sorta lying to you”
“Why?”
“I’m not exactly who you think I am”
And after that he turned himself transparent for a moment and hovered a few feet away from her, passing her arms as he did so.
“What is the meaning of this?” Daisy asked him, now feeling annoyed
“Yup, I’m a Poltergeist, shocking isn’t it?”
“Shocking? Why didn’t you tell me of this earlier?”
“Because I didn’t want you to be scared, I wasn’t sure if you were fully into it”
“Do you have any idea what will happen if anyone else found out?”
at that moment, he just couldn’t take it
“And how would they find out I wonder?” he asked her, “I just let you know of this right now and already you have ideas!”
“I didn’t mean it like tha…”
“You plan to turn me in, and to think I trusted you, well we are through!”
“So now you dump me because of your own assumptions? I would never do that!”
and then she was grabbed by the neck
“you wont tell if your not breathing”
“Listen” she said calmly “I promise not to tell anyone, but you have to realise what you are doing. Killing me to shut me up is only going to cause more problems, you have to control yourself”
There was another moment of silence as he thought about it, and saw reason to release her from his grip.
“I’m sorry, but it’s not going to work out between us”
“…that’s entirely fine, but I need to make sure you don’t follow me. Beldum, put her through Hypnosis”
and the Beldum used his hypnosis attack to put Daisy to sleep, and it was over. When Daisy finally woke up he was gone, never to be seen again, and she decided to take off her ring and throw it into the gutter.

The next morning, they were yet on another dig, in the grand canyon. Men and Rhydon were seen all over the place, hoping to uncover another mysterious mystery, Daisy had of course told Eric all about last night, though she never spoke a word of his true form as she promised
“Don’t worry” said Eric “There are plenty of fish left in the sea”
that made Daisy a little better. Later that day the men have dug into an abandoned Silver mine, it was a fascinating sight, but there were tracks leading to a number of tunnels, everyone agreed to split up into groups and search each tunnel, but Daisy wasn’t too keen as she was chosen to work alone
“That’s alright” said Eric “You can use Rocky ‘ere”, and he got out a Pokeball and released his Pokemon, Rocky was a strong Graveler
“Rocky ‘ere will accompany you and will obey your commands when you encounter anything alright?”
“Thank you” Daisy thanked, and everyone set off.
She thought she got the most darkest path in the mines, because she could barely see what was there, good thing she had a flashlight to see what is going on. Eventually she came to a dead end, which disappointed her as she had been walking an entire way. She was about to go back but noticed that Rocky wouldn’t move, he was too busy staring at something. Daisy noticed this and decided to have a closer look, and that’s when she noticed it, it was a stone carving of a snake coiled around a drop of water. Her heart was pounding, she knew exactly what this was.
“Rocky” Daisy asked “could you punch that wall for me?”
he did so, and kept punching, she was thinking the dead end was a fluke, but Rocky had been punching so hard that the floor below Daisy collapsed, and now she was falling.

She finally fell into another room, when she got up she couldn’t believe what she saw, she was looking at what she thought to be the biggest stone tablet she had ever layed eyes upon, that same symbol as before only slightly different and in more detail, around it was ancient writings, writings which she could easily translate.

“The leviathan rise to save the ocean
From darkness lurking near
With tidal waves so destructive
All quaked in fear
Darkness gone he rests before you
Upon this mountain tower
Until the one who seeks him is ready to harness
His Legendary power”

It was a poem she was very familiar with, ever since she was young she heard stories about the Leviathan, which has always amazed her, and had been trying to uncover its secrets ever since. She walked towards it and put her hand carefully on the carving of the leviathan’s eye, but when she did, she saw that the tablet was now getting wetter and wetter, something was about to happen, and she ran backwards to see that the tablet itself was being drenched in water, then all of a sudden, she felt a huge force strike her pushing her away against the wall. As she got up, the leviathan carving of the tablet was glowing a light blue, gleaming with energy. Then, that energy went directly to Daisy, absorbing itself into her for some strange reason. All grew calm at last and Daisy was safe but confused.

She was eventually rescued, Rocky had told Eric what had happened, everyone was thankful she was ok, except the boss, who was furious, Daisy could have called for help when she had found that smaller logo. Thankfully she wasn’t fired, and everything was normal again. Daisy then took the day off to cool down from what had happened, and decided to relax near a stream. But then she heard a strange wailing sound, she saw a Ralts drowning in the stream, struggling to keep itself afloat, Daisy had to do something to help it, and grabbed a stick and told it to grab on, but it was no good. Daisy was trying to think hard as to how she was going to save him, but then a weird idea came to her she didn’t think possible, and before she knew it, a cold air was spraying from her hands, which eventually froze the stream stopping the Ralts from drifting. She saved the Ralts from harm and set it free, but Ralts was so thankful she didn’t want to leave her side.

Daisy had a lot on her mind, now she was just like her ex-boyfriend, and if people found out, she would end up like him. But hey, the Ralts was thankful enough, at least someone finds her new found powers great. So she carried the Ralts home, thinking of a way to put things right. Daisy had finally told this entire story

“And that’s about the end of my story” Daisy said to Tomo and Justin near the campfire, “I finally got my Pokemon licence and decided to go exploring, knowing I had to use my powers for good and not for evil”
“That was a truly amazing story” said Justin
“I thought it was very interesting” said Tomo, “Its kinda like us in a way now I think about it, but not completely”
“What happened to him?” asked Justin, “Your boyfriend that is”
“I never heard from him again” Daisy replied, “he was pretty mad at me, I don’t think we would ever see each other again, at least not with happy faces”
“I know” said Tomo “no one should make quick judgements like that, that’s what causes trouble”
Daisy got up from her seat
“You passed the test by the way” she said, “people are bound to make judgements when people hear such a tale, but you both took it well, and I don’t feel like a freak or anything”
“Well we all are in some way” said Justin
“You have both gained my trust, nice to have some friends after a while, especially because I had to quit my job because of this”

And they talked for a little longer before putting the campfire out, and going into their tents to sleep, Daisy was asleep right on the spot, because she knew she could rest easy, because she now has friends to think of.
